Entrapment
As children we are capable of taking mental excursions that turn us into elephants on Mars. As adults, however, we become unable to get lost in imaginary adventures that have no relevance to our adult lives. We allow totems of our once limitless imagination to become symbols of their own entrapment. What may once have inspired a dangerous escapade to the Safari ends up representing the Safari’s absence in our domestic, adult lives. Toeing the line between the trivial and the mythological, these images pay tribute to our wild creative potential and provide a wary acknowledgement of how easily it can be tamed.
